In Mombasa, Kenya four sheltered workshops aid The Association for the Physically Disabled of Kenya (APDK), by offering opportunity to over 100 disadvantaged community members working to overcome their physical limitations. The community also receives access to HIV prevention, a health clinic, a nursery school for their children, as well as participation in various sports.
Not only do they support their workers but also use recycled materials to contribute to a cleaner planet and are proud members of the World Fair Trade Organization. Through these opportunities, they are able to become both economically and socially empowered and fully integrated into society.
